Family Navigation courses are great for the whole family. The adults of the family will learn all the same information as a Basic Navigation course but over a shorter walk to accommodate for those little legs on the course. The skills taught to children are adapted to each child and their individual learning level. Children will have the chance to gain The Outdoor Discovery Award.
Itinerary
A Crag 2 Mountain Family Navigation experience starts with a friendly welcome from your own personal instructor and the chance to get to know your group. Your instructor will work with you to establish what you would like to achieve from your experience. Followed by a brief introduction talk and an explanation of how the day will run.
Your instructor will guide you through your navigation experience and help you get to grips with the map and compass, covering any desired learning outcomes along the way.

Throughout your experience, you experience guide will teach you about Dartmoor’s fascinating history and wildlife environment.
You’ll finish off your experience feeling confident to tackle your own adventures.

🧤 Warm Clothing - Dartmoor weather can be changeable. All year round we recommend warm layers and gloves
☂️ Waterproofs - Waterproof trousers and jacket
🍴 Food - Bring lunch and snacks
🥤 Drink - Bottle of water or a flask
📋 Other - Suitable closed toe footwear are essential . Trainers or walking boots are recommended.
